It’s been a hectic few weeks since we last posted. We had literally just opened our doors when we launched our blog. The response and support from customers and local businesses alike has been brilliant. The majority of that time was spent working on various different projects we have undertaken with the aim of firmly establishing BLOQ as a quality Streetwear and Lifestyle brand. Two of which I’ll be touching on in this post.
BLOQ x Venice Beach
This shoot saw us collaborate with a close friend of ours, Mark Logan (@CreateCollaborate) and had been in the pipeline for a few months. We first met Mark here in Dublin just after he had launched The Collective Dublin’s ‘Art Will Be Worn’ line. Mark made the move to Los Angeles this past October, where he has been working on some really interesting and creative projects. The BLOQ x Venice Beach shoot came about as a result of our global vision for BLOQ and is a little taster of what we want to achieve in the coming years. A brand that all BLOQ Natives can enjoy. The shoot took place on the iconic Venice Beach boardwalk and was shot by vintage inspired photographer, Kelly Garthwaite (@KellyElainePhoto). We could not have been happier with the outcome. The full album is located in the nav bar above this post.
BLOQ x DCLO Kicks @ Men’s Hair Co Pop Up
Friday December 5th saw us team up with Darren from DCLO Kicks to create a Pop Up shop providing a vast collection of rare and vintage sneakers combined with apparel from our very own Collection 01. The event was quality as expected, with our resident DJ laying down tracks for the evening and tasty refreshment provided by the good folk at Miller Genuine Draft and Red Bull. Jason and Craig from Men’s Hair Co. were dishing out top notch haircuts as per usual on the night. The combination of all elements involved made for a great buzz in store and around the local area. It was the first of many in store events so make sure to get down to the next one.
The run in to Christmas is set up to be beautifully chaotic. We can’t wait. We are currently working on a collaborative event which will be taking place in Dublin City centre towards the end of January. We will be releasing details over the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out.
